Some changes to the kitchen . . .

Ah yes . . . some changes to the kitchen have been made - without burning down the house (not that it matters, it's already burned twice..)! The dishwasher was installed courtesy of Jim, and I managed to do a little plumbing under the sink for the first time with a torch (and a cookie sheet).

The laminate was also a first, with help and direction from Dad Donnelly; including learning how to successfully operate a table-saw. Having to waste brand-new laminate boards because of lousy cuts is a real incentive to learn to do it right. We think the job came out o.k. :)

Our VW Jetta has died . . . Yeah!!!

Hi all -

It's been awhile since we last blogged. For those of you who didn't hear, my car was just recently written off. I was parked in a lot adjacent to my work, and returned at the end of my shift to find the right-side of my car was caved in. I guess somebody had taken out the side of my care and drove off. Apparently it was hit hard enough to shove the gas filler neck through the body of the car!
The insurance company said it wasn't worth repairing, so they cut a cheque. We're not especially sorry to see the car go, since it failed an e-test last year, and was about to get yanked off the road in February without a substantial investment in the exhaust system. Since we needed a newer car with a child-seat anchoring system, we were thankfully able to get a newer car: 2007 Hyundai Sonata!
