Hi all -
O.k., so it's definitely been a long time since we last blogged, but better late than never. As alot of family are aware, the testicular cancer I was diagnosed with 1year ago has returned, along with a small spot on my right lung. I found out the news on June 7, and by June 16 started my first day of chemo.
The chemo consists of 'cycles'. Each cycle is 3 weeks long. Week 1 is M-F/5 hrs/day, Weeks 2 & 3 are Mon. chemo only (approx. 1hr). I have 3 cycles, which means 9 weeks total. The Dr. is confident that the chemo itself will be able to rid the spot, without surgery. Overall, the Dr's opinion is that there is a high chance for cure with the chemo (this particular cancer doesn't respond to radiation). Apparently hair doesn't begin to fall out until day 17, although everybody doesn't necessarily lose their hair.
I know this is a shock to a lot of people (including us), but we do have alot of support. We're very grateful for the prayers of family & friends as we navigate these waters.
