Cancer Center Update
Hi all -
I went to see the radiation Dr. today, and he told me the results of the second pathology detected no presence of cancer, and my CT scan came up clear. Yay!! What they did find is that it was a teratoma, a type of non-cancerous tumour which still needed to be removed. I also do not require any radiation, and will return to my usual monitoring.
Thanks to everybody for their thoughts and prayers - it is so appreciated!

Oh yeah... let the backyard games begin!
Bottom: New trampoline with enclosure! Very grateful that we managed to snag one of the last trampolines that Sam's Club had before they closed down. We ended up getting the entire amount of our membership back (which we used against the trampoline). Crystal has been really enjoying the jumping (with absolutely careful supervision; she mostly likes to lie on it). Looking forward to a summer trampoline campout!

New meeting with the radiation Dr.
Just a quick announcement that a new meeting with the radiation Dr. will happen on Friday, March 20. I'll have a CT scan before then, and hopefully, the new pathology report will be available on the 20th. This would mean we'd have some more answers re: radiation. We'll keep everybody posted.

And Friday's results say...
Hi all -
We had the appointment for the oncologist, and radiation dr. this Friday. Apparently, the pathology report done was rather ambiguous and unclear in its language, so the oncologist is asking to have the pathology report re-done. He is asking a pathologist with lung & testicular specialties to take the original tumour slides and do a fresh report. This should take about another 3 weeks. This report will be the basis for future treatment. In the meantime, I'll have another CT scan and lab work done. This should determine whether or not I would receive some prophylactic (preventative) radiation to the chest. So, I'll guess we'll be keeping everyone informed as we wait for some more answers. In the meantime however, the incisions are healing nicely, and I'm able to take a shower again - yeahhhh!!
