Family Updates...

We know it's been forever since we last blogged, so just some quick updates as we move into the fall:

Crystal is on the path to potty-power: in the last couple of days she's started to use the potty by herself. Ah yes... we can't wait for the day to retire her diapers!

Connie is back to school following labour-day weekend. She has a 2 course load this semester, which should prove pretty challenging. I (Chris) have been accepted to the regular-draft of the 4-year liberal arts program at Waterloo (i.e. I'm off probation). I also got word this week that the admissions committee at UW gave me some credits from Conestoga (4 courses), so I'm a 2nd year student now (it may be 2nd year, but I'll probably be at this for the next 10 years..)!

Ferol is off to Fanshawe College in London on Labour Day weekend, and Richard starts grade 11 too.

Mom and Jim were up for 2 weeks from Arkansas, and spent probably 90% of their time in the basement installing a bathroom! The major infrastructure is done, and I'll finish the remaining details (some drywall, tiling, etc.). Pics soon!

Finishing up school...

I have just finished with one course, and Connie is in the throes of another. It's been a tough haul recently with the course work we both have, but we're slogging through it. Mom and Jim are up for a visit for a couple of weeks, and they are graciously putting in a bathroom in the basement while they're here! Jim is filling me in on the process as I assist. Pictures to come! Ahhh... there's nothing like swinging around a jackhammer and blowing away some concrete - oh yes!

Rocking on... with the Guess Who

Connie and I finally got a little time to get out and see a concert: The Guess Who (well, it's more like Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings). They did a bunch of Guess Who stuff, and Bachman-Turner Overdrive (BTO). We were kinda' surprised how polite they were on stage, and how much energy they had for being in their 60's!

Hi all - I know this looks funny doing a commentary on our basement, but they include rough dimensions for Mom & Jim when they come to install a bathroom. Chris will be learning and helping!
